Sutherland Shire is widely recognised for its natural environment, including the beaches, bays and bushland. It makes for an attractive setting for urban living - and our community is passionate about protecting this. In order to maintain the Shire's natural beauty for decades to come, the following four key directions have been identified by the community:

  • improve our local air quality
  • conserve our abundant native flora and fauna
  • enhance the health and beauty of our waterways, beaches and wetlands
  • move towards a low waste future.
