Council has more than 100 sporting fields available for use by clubs, associations, schools and organised groups. Bookings for seasonal use by sporting associations are made on a seasonal basis.

To book a playing field, organisations must apply in writing to Sutherland Shire Council, Att: Sport and Recreation Department, Locked Bag 17, Sutherland NSW 1499.

Playing field seasons

Summer season:

Second Saturday in September to second Sunday in March

Winter season:

Last Saturday in March to last Sunday in August

Two week period between summer and winter seasons

There is a two-week break between seasons to allow council to repair and renovate the fields, preparing them for the following season i.e. covering cricket pitches and installing goal posts.
